Edoardo, a developer and founder of Banda, a property and interior design practice, has unveiled the studio’s latest project – a penthouse near Westbourne Grove, London – currently listed for £6.9 million ($9.47 million). The apartment, which sits on the fringe of Hyde Park, is described by Banda as one of the ‘latest and most exciting projects in prime central London’ – and one of the world’s best homes. Here, we take a tour. The penthouse is located on the fifth floor of a mid-nineteenth-century property that exhibits a beautiful stucco façade. However, while the exteriors are something to behold – the interiors are even more inspiring. Firstly, upon entering the home, the property showcases grand entryway ideas through its entrance hall that leads into the open-plan living space. The entryway showcases a collection of artworks, including a sculptural piece in silk that is mounted on the wall by artists Ursula Nistrup (opens in new tab) and Lotte Henriksen. Banda dressed the living space with low-level yet sumptuous furniture to accentuate the height of the eaves whilst drawing your eye to the black Marquina marble fireplace designed by Edoardo and his team. They added a distressed overmantle mirror to emphasize the oak beams to create a French barn aesthetic amid the English capital. Double doors lead from the primary living space to a dark gray marble kitchen – to a dining area that serves as a catalyst of dining room ideas. Stand-out elements include the dressed dining table and chairs designed by the Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret. Meanwhile, the penthouse has a large master bedroom suite with a marble bathroom, double shower, and separate dressing area. These walls are finished in a fine green plaster from Studio Loho, in a nod to one of the most sought-after hues of the season. There is also a further art-filled guest bedroom with a walnut headboard with Rose Uniacke side tables. Plus, the 2,300 square foot apartment also boasts an additional 500 square foot private roof terrace – which acts as a trove of small garden ideas – through its ability to blur the lines between the interior and exterior spaces. ‘The feeling of nature and light is ever-present with the materials used and the views over the garden square.
