Unsurprisingly, the Pirates of the Caribbean and Sweeney Todd star has a property portfolio that is almost as diverse as his filmography – spanning from an entire French Village to a compound in the Hollywood Hills, naturally. Johnny Depp has picked up the keys to some of the world’s best homes over recent years, but these 5 estates are amongst his most noteworthy.
Where does Johnny Depp live? 5 properties from the actor’s home history
The actor has owned properties across the continents – here is a glimpse inside his most magnificent purchases.
1. Little Halls Pond Cay
The actor’s private island in the Bahamas consists of 45-acres of raw, unspoiled beauty in the North Atlantic Ocean. Johnny Depp reportedly first cast his eye on the cay when he was filming Pirates Of The Caribbean – before purchasing the land for $3.6million in 2004. Little Halls Pond Cay features a palm tree-lined lagoon, private houses, and six beaches, two of which are named after the actor’s children, Lily-Rose and Jack.
2. Five LA penthouses
For Johnny Depp-approved decorating ideas, you do not need to look any further than his five multi-storied, side-by-side penthouses. The apartments, situated in the Art Deco-style Eastern Columbia Building in downtown Los Angeles, showcased the actor’s unique style through its eclectic paint ideas and decor pieces – from a gallery wall in the kitchen to a cobalt blue scheme in the bedroom. The actor sold his collection of penthouses for a total of almost $10.9 million following his divorce from actress Amber Heard in 2017.
3. Private French village
Johnny Depp’s French village is amongst the actor’s most famous purchases, and all for good reason. The estate, which was recently listed for $55 million, has everything you could ever desire from a quintessentially Provençal village, including six guesthouses (one of which was formally a church) and a restaurant named Chez Marceline. Its desirable location, only 17 miles from glamorous St Tropez, meant the village was frequented by various celebrities during Mr. Depp’s residency, including Leonardo DiCaprio and his former girlfriend, Kate Moss.
4. Hollywood Hills Compound
It would appear that Johnny Depp has a habit of purchasing side-by-side properties. Alongside his five LA penthouses, the actor bought five neighboring homes worth $19million (£13.5million) to create a large compound in the Hollywood Hills – which is his home to date. Aerial footage suggests the estate is a maze of spectacular mansions and garden ideas – complete with tropical greenery and swimming pools. Rumors suggest that Mr.Depp was planning on building tunnels between the various properties that cover an area of around 7,430 sq. feet.
5. Kentucky Horse Farm
Kentucky native Jonny owned an estate named Betty Sue’s Family Farm (in remembrance of his late mother) until 2020 – when he sold the home for $1.3 million. The estate has two barns, a seven-bedroom house, and a guesthouse with a gourmet kitchen and a manager’s quarter. Reports suggest that Mr. Depp had originally sold the home in 2001; however, he repurchased the land four years later for his mother, who previously lived in the 6,000-foot main home.
